The Opportunity
The Co-operators is looking for a LAN/PC Analyst. The purpose of this position is to provide Second Level Support for our technical platform. Second Level Support is comprised of a team of approximately eight resources that are part of the Technical Platform Management Team. Second Level Support performs advanced technical support, monitoring and remote management for over 600 servers and 5,500 PC's, in over 600 locations, across Canada. The support provided is both of a proactive and reactive model. Servers run under Windows 2003 server, and PC's run under Windows XP Pro and Windows 7, in an Active Directory domain. A Windows VPC OS/2 session is also supported. The PC/LAN Analyst is one of 3 progressive roles. Intermediate and Senior are two other PC/LAN Analyst roles available based on experience, increased complexity of investigation, project work and research and documentation on new resolutions.
Your Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in math, computer science or equivalent combination of education and related technical experience
Minimum 2-3 years work experience in technical support in a large professional organization with 2,000+ staff, with practical experience implementing and supporting Windows XP Pro and Windows 7
MCDST certification or MCSE 2003
Call Management Software (Remedy)
Microsoft Operation Manager 2005
System Management Server 2003
Internet Connectivity and Protocols (TCP/IP)
VPN Communication Protocols
Basic configuration of network router and switches
Comprehensive understanding of all technical components within LAN
General understanding of WAN
Knowledge in networking and internet technology
Comprehensive experience with MS Office and productivity applications

Major Responsibilities:

- The owner of Ontario RSC Database Applications
- Involved in Logistics Enterprise Applications (SAP, EXE/Witron, Fleet management, etc), also responsible for maintenance and system upgrade
- Become a super user for the Logistics Enterprise Applications and provide technical support to the Ontario RSCs
- Prepare procedure guides, user guides, and other soft and hard documentation
- Prepare Reports and KPIs for Logistics team as required
- Analyze: data, operational practices, process mapping, develop tools, benchmark / best practices research.

GAME DEVELOPERS
Responsibilities:
Development and support of custom database-driven web based game client.

Qualifications:

Profile Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for clearly defining the needs and requirements of clients and providing technological or process solutions to end users. This position provides software and report development services to business users both directly and through third party resources. An important part of this role is to analyze and understand business processes and advise on procedural or technological recommendations. The Systems Analyst helps business users leverage information technology more effectively to improve business efficiency. This is a 6-month contract role.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports and implements various business applications
Works closely with business users and IT staff to develop and implement business solutions
Performs requirements analysis, detailed design, detailed testing, test plans (functional and user), and technical documentation
Conducts effective functional testing on solutions during development
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
University level education in information technology or equivalent education
4+ years experience in business analysis, testing and supporting business applications
Good understanding of database design and development skills, including experience in SQL development
Proven experience with the development of enterprise reporting solutions
2+ years reports development experience in Microsoft Reporting Services
Crystal reporting or other similar technologies would be an asset
Accounting or real estate experience would be an asset

Contract, short term (Possible extensions) PHP Web Developer
We're again looking for an experienced PHP developer (5+ years) with specific experience of Object-orientated design / Object Orientated Programming in an Oracle/UNIX environment.
